Inuyasha Kagome screencap episode 1

I know there were a lot of Inuyasha fans and gamers disappointed by the lackluster DS RPG Inuyasha: Secret of the Divine Jewel. Hopefully, today’s news will make up for it. Apple has a habit of trying to lure in potential buyers by offering free music, music videos and TV episodes from time to time. Starting today, July 22, 2009, and running until July 27, 2009, iTunes will be offering the first episode of the Inuyasha anime as a free download.

Typically, any TV episode costs $1.99, so it’s not a bad deal to try out one episode for free. “The Girl Who Overcame Time… And The Boy Who Was Just Overcome” is a 24 minute episode that shows Kagome and Inuyasha’s first meeting, and begins the quest to search for the Shikon Jewel shards. It’s rated TV-14, and to download it you must have iTunes and an iTunes account. It’s a pretty substantial, 287.5mb download as well. Also, in case you’re wondering, it’s the dubbed version and not the subtitled version, so the Japanese voices aren’t there.

If you liked it and enjoyed it, you’ll probably have to turn to Netflix or iTunes to get more. Inuyasha used to be a Cartoon Network staple, but it hasn’t appeared there in a long time. If you’re looking for somewhat decent Inuyasha games after watching, check out Inuyasha: Feudal Combat and Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask, both for the PS2. There’s also Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale, but since that was on the PlayStation you’ll probably run into a bit of trouble trying to find it.
