How To: Get your three free games via PSPgo Rewards

As of this writing Sony still hasn’t offered a practical solution to everybody’s growing UMD problem. With the launch of the PSPgo only days away, we still don’t know how or if we will be able to enjoy our UMD based games if we choose to purchase a PSPgo. Well lets take our minds off that issue for a second and talk about a new promotion Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe is having called PSPgo Rewards.

PSPgo Rewards is Sony’s way of easing us into the digital download only process the PSPgo will offer. It’s offering three free downloadable games from a list of 17 available titles that includes Wipeout Pure, echochrome, Killzone: Liberation and Patapon .

There is a catch to all of this though – you must have an existing PSP to qualify. The good news is it doesn’t matter whether you have a PSP-1000, -2000 or -3000 to get in on this deal. The promotion starts on October 1, 2009, and will last until March 31, 2010.

The process you must go through to secure your free games is a little lengthy so we’ve included step-by-step directions to help you out courtesy of SCEE:

1. Unwrap your shiny new PSPgo and start it up
2. Connect to PlayStation Network and activate your new or existing PlayStation Network account for PSPgo Rewards
3. Start up your current PSP and connect to PlayStation Network
4. Login using the same PlayStation Network account , and launch PlayStation Store
5. Pop one of your UMDs into the drive of your current PSP and register on PSPgo Rewards when prompted
6. Download a PSPgo theme
7. Wait for your email voucher for your three free games
8. Choose, download and enjoy!
