Remember how disappointed you’d be, back in the day, when you’d buy a Street Fighter game then see a slightly better version released within a year? Capcom wants to help you relive those feelings. One of the company’s Tokyo Game Show 2009 reveals was Super Street Fighter IV. Basically, it’s Street Fighter IV, which was released February 17, 2009 on the PS3 and Xbox 360, only super.
Right now there aren’t a lot of specific details, but we do know a lot of the general Super Street Fighter IV facts. For instance, the character roster jumps from 25 to 33. Eight new characters are being added to the lost. The only two confirmed characters so far are returning favorite T.Hawk and a new female character named Juri. (Don’t confuse her with Juli or Juni.) The online multiplayer portion of the game is also going to be optimized, and existing characters will be receiving extra ultra combos. The game is also going to cost less that Street Fighter IV.
I think it would be awesome if Capcom went out of its way to release Super Street Fighter IV on February 17, 2010. No release date has been announced yet, aside from keeping the 2010 window open. I think it would just be kind of neat.
