For a limited time get an 80 GB PS3 for the price of a PSPgo

Enough with all this PSPgo talk, especially about how expensive the $249.99 handheld is. Let’s have some happy news. Let’s talk about a good deal. For example, let’s look at the two PS3 sales over at the Sony Style online store. Yes, normally its more expensive to buy PS3s at the Sony Style store, but that isn’t the case right now. For a limited time, an 80gb PS3 is $249.99 instead of $399, and a 160gb PS3 Drake’s Fortune bundle is $349.99 instead of $499.99. Even better, with the purchase of either system you get a free dualshock 3 controller.

First, let’s look at the PS3 80gb unit that’s on sale. It’s not a slim, sadly, but a PS3 is a PS3. And the price is a good deal. Normally, a PS3 is $299.99 at Amazon and $279.99 at Best Buy. So, while the sale’s on, it’s a great deal.

As for the 160gb Drake’s Fortune PS3 bundle, which includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and a voucher for Pain, it’s a pretty good deal too. Amazon’s also selling the same bundle for $349.99, but Best Buy wants $399.99 for it. The Sony Style promotion is probably the best deal at the moment though, since you get the free controller with it. If you miss out on the Sony Style deal, you can always go back and take advantage of the Amazon one.

The only thing is, you may not be able to take part in one of these great deals. The 80gb system is out of stock as of 12:26pm CST, October 13, 2009, and there’s no notice on the product page suggesting when it may be back in stock. The 160gb Drake’s Fortune PS3 bundle is still in stock though, so if you can scrape together a little more money you could still get that.
