The process is very simple to use. You simply insert a instant streaming disc into a PS3. You can then start watching the media from Netflix on your TV or computer. The disc will be free once it is available. For now, you can visit Netflix and sign up to receive news of when the service will be launched and reserve a disc for yourself.
Once the Netflix disc is inserted in your PS3, you’ll be able to check and see what movies and shows can be watched instantly. The PS3 controllers are used for navigation and controlling the movies and shows.
The deal also includes the standard Netflix method of receiving DVDs by mail. So for $8.99 you get instant access to media and the ability to reserve DVDs as usual. Not too bad.
I have a feeling that, within a year, we’ll be hearing a similar announcement from Nintendo.
