Zynga’s FarmVille Facebook farming simulation game is so popular, it now has an additional Facebook app dedicated to it. Playata has created Farmbook, which it is claiming is the first Facebook game informational application.
Think of Farmbook like an online strategy guide. It contains all sorts of information for FarmVille players, like when special offers expire, news things that have been added, information on the most profitable crops and so on. There’s no way to participate or contribute to Farmbook, sadly, so if you had any special insights or tips for fellow FarmVille players, you’ll have to discuss them on the FarmVille page.
The only downside I can see is that you actually have to add the Farmbook application to your Facebook profile if you want to access it. Well, that and the notion that you’d have to have two browser windows or tabs open with Facebook pages if you want to use Farmbook while playing FarmVille. Personally, I’ve noticed sometimes that Facebook game apps run slower if you have two tabs with Facebook open.
This isn’t the first informational app released by Playata. They have a second informational app called Fishbook for Zynga’s FishVille. As you can probably guess, it functions in a similar manner and provides all sorts of valuable information about Zynga’s Facebook aquarium simulation.
