Glory of HeraclesIf you were worrying about the DS RPG Glory of Heracles, since there hasn’t been a lot of news about it since E3 2009, then don’t. Nintendo’s just announced that the game will be released in North America on January 18, 2010. Nope, it won’t fade into obscurity like DS Air, Jam with the Band or A.S.H.. It’s actually getting a stateside release.

Glory of Heracles is actually the first entry in the Glory of Heracles series that used to belong to Data East and the very first to be released outside of Japan. It’s set in Greece and relies strongly on characters, situations and such from Greek mythology. Players follow the adventures of an amnesiac young man with extraordinary abilities as he journeys to Mount Olympus to see the gods. Along the way he’ll be joined by other gifted allies and face unusual challenges.

No word yet on price. Since it’s a Nintendo game, and an RPG, I’m going to guess that the price will be between $34.99-$39.99. Nintendo could end up surprising us though, and pricing it at $29.99 like The Legendary Starfy. It has already been rated “Everyone 10+” by the ESRB.

I’m thankful for another, interesting Nintendo game, but where’s A.S.H. at? Nintendo’s been hinting at a localization for years now. And while the company’s working on DS RPGs, Soma Bringer should get moved to the top of the list.
