Electronic Gaming Monthly

Here’s a bit of fantastic news for fans of the long-loved (but shuttered) gaming mag Electronic Gaming Monthly. The magazine is slated for a resurrection, and the good folks at Bitmob (which is run by ex-EGM personalities like Dan Hsu and Demian Linn) are going to join forces with the new/old project.

A full press release and personal story contributed by Hsu himself is available on Bitmob, but here’s the bottom line: Hsu and Linn will be writing for the new magazine as well as the site – and this is fantastic news for gamers.

From the press release:

“Both Hsu and Linn will oversee and contribute to EGM using a staff of industry veterans that includes Greg Ford, Aaron Thomas, Jason Wilson, Michael Donahoe, and Brett Bates – all members of the Bitmob.com team. “Dan and Demian have assembled a terrific staff comprised of some of the best names in gaming journalism,” said Harris. “Their collective efforts for EGM will be complementary to Bitmob.com, which will continue as an important voice for the gaming community. We hope to build upon our relationship with Bitmob and bring even more synergies to our respective endeavors in the future.”

As a longtime fan of the magazine, I’m thrilled to hear that not only is it coming back – but it’ll be back with the writers I always admired most. Best of luck and congratulations to all involved!
