Another batch of downloadable content for Brutal Legend is coming out in time for Christmas. On December 17, 2009, the “Hammer of Infinite Fate” pack will be released for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. They’re not exactly similarly priced though, as the PS3 version costs $4.99 when its released on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox 360 version costing 480 Microsoft Points (about $6) when it appears on Xbox Live.
“Hammer of Infinite Fate” is all about customization and adding replay value. You’ll be able to further customize Eddie Rigs, The Deuce and Mount Rockmore. Eddie Riggs gets three new outfits and seven new back patches, his car The Deuce gets four new paint jobs and four new upgrades and Mount Rockmore will get six new face options. The three new outfits are called Mountain Man, Black Metal and Zaulia. The four new accessories for The Deuce are the Coiling Maw, Disgorger and Eye of Sorrow weapons and the Oculus of the Lost GPS. The six new buyable Mount Rockmore heads are Dadbat, Hunter, Kage the Kannonier, Razputin, Rima and Tim Schafer.
In terms of replay value, the new DLC adds in new trophies/achievements, depending on which version you own, and new multiplayer maps. There are nine new trophies/achievements, though none have been revealed yet. You’ll have to download it to find out. The four new maps are called Amplified Cliffs, Altar of Blood, Coiled Remains and Crucible of the Titans.
So, if Brutal Legend is starting to bore you, though I honestly can’t imagine that happening, “Hammer of Infinite Fate” could help spice things up.
