That’s correct. Last year’s ultra-hardcore, super retro Mega Man 9 is getting a sequel. Fans of NES-style 2D sidescrolling action and robot bashing, take heed – the latest issue of Nintendo Power spills the beans on the new game, which is slated to appear on WiiWare.
If you thought the bosses were weird last time, check out the latest – Sheep Man. I’m not kidding. He’s a robot-sheep-boss thingy, and he looks especially fluffy.
According to the piece, the game will feature an easy mode – a welcome addition considering how punishingly tough Mega Man 9 was. Purists may scoff (9 was hard precisely because the old NES titles were), but hey – don’t use it.
Needless to say, old-school fans should get excited. We’ll keep you updated as details roll in!
