Spirited Heart DeluxeRemember Winter Wolves Studio’s Spirited Heart? Well it’s back and better than before. Over the holidays a new version was released, called Spirited Heart Deluxe.

If you already owned Spirited Heart, you can upgrade for free. Hopefully, you saved the email that arrived when you bought the game. If you did, you can just click it and download Spirited Heart Deluxe from the same link you downloaded Spirited Heart from. The update isn’t a brief add-on, it’s a brand new version of the old game. So just reinstall and you’re set.

Spirited Heart Deluxe is better for a number of reasons. First, the game now ends at the age of 30, which should give you the extra time you may need to marry certain guys or reach certain stat objectives. There are also three goddesses added into the game, one for each race, and each one will assign a character from her race a task to complete by age 30 that will give you a special endings. You can also earn titles if you acquire proficiency in certain skills, which sort of act as achievements. Additional features include newly edited game scripts and the ability to turn off romantic encounters.

The update I’m most pleased about is the dice mini-game. Now, when your character shows up for a job, you can play the dice mini-game to determine how the day of work goes. So now more hoping for good results, you can actually control it! Plus, if you get tired of dictating every action, you can fall back on the old, mini-game-less job system.

The Spirited Heart PC, Mac and Linux demos have been updated as well. All three are now demos for Spirited Heart Deluxe, which means you’ll get to sample the new game offerings and additions as well. That should help make your buying decision easier.

Gamertell reviewed Spirited Heart back in April, 2009. It’s really a fun simulation game for gamers ages 12 and up. If you liked the Princess Maker games, you’ll love Spirited Heart.
