The primary focus of the Consumer Electronics Show is to showcase new electronics devices and accessories. In recent years though, it has also been used by video game publishers to show off upcoming games. For example, this year at CES 2010 the first Lego Universe demo is going to be making its debut.
The Lego Group announced in 2009 that it would be attending CES 2010 and showing off its forthcoming PC massive multiplayer online game Lego Universe. It was only today (January 5, 2010) that The Lego Group sent out a press release announcing that the Lego Universe demo would be appearing for the first time at CES 2010.
Here’s what you’ll find at the booth, if you’re fortunate enough to attend the event. There are going to be Lego Universe demos running, so you can test out the game. You’ll probably get to do some building and battling, to get an idea of what the final product will be like. If all the demo stations are full, you can watch the Lego Universe trailer while you wait or sign up for the Lego Universe beta.
Lego Universe is going to be in the North Hall at booth #5421, in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Since its a booth being run by the Lego Group and NetDevil, I’m guessing there will be a lot of Lego paraphernalia around, so it’ll probably be really easy to spot.
