Eric David Ruth has found a way to make Left 4 Dead adorable.
If you’re ever in the mood to kill zombies but want to revel in nostalgia brought on by Zombie Ate My Neighbors, then Pixel Force: Left 4 Dead is the “de-make” for you.
Pixel Force: L4D is a re-telling of Valve’s smash hit redone with 8-bit graphics and sound. The PC game covers all four campaigns from the original and supports two player co-op. Zoey, Luis, Francis and Bill all return to participate in the 2D fight of their lives.
Since this title is intentionally scaled back, don’t expect any AI Director-style gameplay changes or four-player co-op. You can expect to find weapon and ammo pickups scattered across the levels. Special infected such as the Boomer and Hunter make a return with their trademark attacks that do the 8-bit era justice.
You can download this game for free from File Planet as a 21.4MB file. Grab an ally and kill zombies like your parents used to.
