During Toshiba’s CES 2010 press conference, televisions were the star of the show. Toshiba focused nearly all of its attention on its new line of televisions with built-in cell processors.
Toshiba’s Cell TV features four processors that clock in at over 3Ghz each. This makes the televisions faster than most standard PC’s. This boost in power helped to introduce a new technology named TriVector which Toshiba says will convert anything the television displays from 2D to 3D. This includes standard cable programming, DVD’s blu-ray discs and videogames alike. This technology was said to expand over time.
Toshiba was not clear on whether a special type of eyewear will be needed to fully experience its 3D imagery.
