The Sims 3 Design & and High-Tech StuffThe first Sims 3 stuff pack has been announced, and it is The Sims 3 Design & High-Tech Stuff. As Sims 2 owners may recall, stuff packs are like expansion packs, but without any new gameplay elements. Instead, they just come with a themed assortment of new furniture, flooring, wallpaper, clothing, hairstyles and even architectural elements. It looks like the Sims 3 stuff packs will follow the same sort of pattern as Sims 2 stuff packs, usually being released between expansion packs.

The Sims 3 Design & High-Tech Stuff is all about technology. The furniture are all very modern looking and expensive, and there are a lot of expensive and fancy, virtual, electronic devices. There will also be very modern and expensive clothing items included, so your sims will look their best.

In addition to the high-tech and designer additions, The Sims 3 Design & High-Tech Stuff add-on will also include three 10th Anniversary items from previous Sims games. You’ll also get an aquarium, a heart-shaped vibrating bed and an electric guitar. Of course, the items are being completely redone, remastered and optimized for The Sims 3.

Funny, I thought there already was an electric guitar in The Sims 3. I could be wrong, since I haven’t played it for a month or so. But I distinctly remember adding a guitar to many of my virtual characters’ homes.

No price or release date has been set yet for The Sims 3 Design & High-Tech Stuff. Typically, the stuff packs are like $10 less than an expansion. It’ll probably cost between $19.99 and $29.99. The European site says it’ll be out for PCs on May 2, 2010. However, the European box art shows its compatible with both PCs and Macs. I guess we’ll know for sure what computers it’ll work with once the release date gets closer.
