Aksys has announced the official release date for its forthcoming PSP RPG, Mimana Iyar Chronicles, and a preorder incentive that will hopefully get people buying. First, the game is going to be released March 30, 2010 and will cost $39.99. PSPgo owners won’t be left out, as Aksys is planning a UMD and digital release.
Second, the first run copies of Mimana Iyar Chronicles will all come with some audio incentives. You’ll get the complete game soundtrack to listen to, presumably on a CD. You’ll also get voicemails from seven of the characters to listen to. I’m not quite sure how the voicemail part will work, but the press release says they’re for your mobile device. It wasn’t mentioned if the PlayStation Store version of the game will come with the preorder incentives, but previous PSP preorders or games (SMT Persona, Prinny, etc) that came with a soundtrack only included it with the UMD release.
Mimana Iyar Chronicles is your typical JRPG, with some dating sim elements tossed in for good measure. Crais Sewell is a mercenary hired by a singer named Sophie to collect seven jewels. Along the way, other female party members will join their quest, and eventually you could help Crais win one over. Oh, and there’s the whole save the world thing as well.
