A few days ago BioWare shared a tweet that said it would reveal its DLC plans for Mass Effect 2 this week. It has made good on its promise and revealed this content called The Cerberus Network will only be available to those who purchase Mass Effect 2 brand new.
The Cerberus Network acts as a hub to keep players in the loop with the latest news and bonus content for Mass Effect 2. The network will be distributed through a code in new physical and digital copies of Mass Effect 2 on Xbox 360 and PC. If you don’t purchase the game new, The Cerberus Network will be offered at a later date for a yet to be revealed price.
When Mass Effect 2 comes out on January 26, 2010, anyone who accesses The Cerberus Network on this day will get new missions, items, and the opportunity to recruit a new character named Zaeed. In the future BioWare will release more DLC that will unlock a hover tank named the Hammerhead. The Hammerhead makes it easier to navigate on rough terrains found on some of Mass Effect 2‘s planets. Furthermore, BioWare will offer missions that will provide Cerberus Assault Armor and and the M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun.
