Both Kotaku and Siliconera are reporting that earlier the product listing stated the collector’s edition of FFXIII would come with art cards, an artbook, a comic book, a prequel novel, a soundtrack and the game. The prequel novel part is most likely Final Fantasy XIII: Episode Zero, a book with three novellas that take place before the game.
You don’t have to order the Final Fantasy XIII Special edition to read all three Final Fantasy XIII: Episode Zero novellas. You could stop by the Japanese FFXIII website to read them all, if you can read Japanese. If you don’t, you could stop by Lissar’s Translations, where Part I: Encounter, Part II: Friends and Part III: Treasure, all three novella parts of Episode Zero, are available in English.
If you’re in Europe and this looks good, be prepared to pay €80, that’s roughly $113.06, for the special edition. Considering all you’re getting, it’s probably worth it. Imagine the bragging rights you could have if this special edition isn’t released in North America. Imagine how much you could sell it for on eBay!
