Halo Reach
If you happened to be browsing through EB Games’ online store today, and stumbled upon the Halo: Reach product listing, you likely found a pleasant surprise in the form of multiple screenshots from the forthcoming game. They aren’t anything new, mind you. As XCast Online pointed out, they’re from Game Informer’s February 2010 issue. But, they’re new to those of us who don’t subscribe to the magazine.

Unfortunately, they’re all gone now. Apparently the upload of said images was a mistake, and they are no longer up at the EB Games site. That doesn’t mean you won’t get the opportunity to see them though! One of the images is directly above, and XCast Online happened to save all the screenshot images before they were taken down by site management.

The world first heard about Bungie’s Halo: Reach, the latest entry in the Xbox 360 Halo series at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards show. A definite release date hasn’t been set yet, though the official website promises it’ll be out in 2010. The EB Games product listing does offer a more definite possible release date though. As of 11:07am, CST (January 20, 2010), EB Games’ listing says it will be released September 1, 2010. if you want to be optimistic, that release date doesn’t really sound that unlikely.

Story-wise, Halo: Reach takes place just before Halo: Combat Evolved on the planet Reach. The Covenant is taking over and Reach is one of the few colonies that is still strong enough to stand against the alien menace. You are an elite soldier, a Spartan from Noble Team, that is attempting to keep Reach safe.
