EA and BioWare has a solution to keep players from purchasing used copies of Mass Effect 2. It was revealed earlier in the week that the Cerberus Network would be a hub for getting Mass Effect 2 news and free downloadable content. Bitmob has discovered the price for accessing the Cerberus Network will be 1200 Microsoft points ($15) to players who do not purchase new copies of Mass Effect 2.
Bitmob reports the only available content available through the Cerberus Network at this time is the Normandy Crash mission. When Mass Effect 2 is available to the public on January 26, 2010, more content will be ready for download.
The Cerberus Network won’t be the only way to get downloadable content either. BioWare’s co-founder Dr.Greg Zeschuk revealed to Joystiq that DLC will also be made available for purchase through the Xbox Live Marketplace. Zeschuk also said not all of the content Cerebrus offered through the Cerberus Network will be free.
