Practice stealth jigsaw skills with Metal Gear Solid: Piece Walker

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker won’t be released until May, 2010, but Metal Gear Solid: Piece Walker is available to play right now! And, it’s free! In order to help drum up interest in the upcoming PSP game, Konami has created an online, Metal Gear Solid-themed puzzle game.

As is evident from the title, Metal Gear Solid: Piece Walker is about assembling jigsaw puzzles. You guide your little cardboard soldier around the board with your mouse, correctly placing pieces to complete the puzzle and earn points. You can even play it in a multiplayer mode against other online users, and place bombs to hinder their progress and help yours.

When you get to the site, you can make a free account so you can keep track of your points and rank. You can even show off how well you’re doing on Facebook or your Twitter. If you don’t want to register, you don’t have to and can just play for fun without keeping track of how awesome you’re doing.

While the site below is Japanese, don’t be afraid to go play. There’s an English language option available. Right now there are 25 puzzles available, and each week more puzzles will be added. The images you’re putting together are either based on Metal Gear Solid screenshots or character artwork.

Honestly, I’m not a Metal Gear Solid fan. I’ve never played any of the games. But, I can’t stop playing Metal Gear Solid: Piece Walker. It’s surprisingly fun and addicting, especially in the multiplayer mode!
