One game steals this show this week, and that’s Mega Man 10. Yes, the latest downloadable Mega Man game is here, and is appearing on WiiWare first! Make sure you have a spare 1,000 Nintendo Points ($10) lying around, because you aren’t going to want to miss this!
Oh, and there are some other games too, I guess. I mean, they all pale in comparison to Mega Man 10, when you really think about it. Two other WiiWare games, four DSiWare games and a Virtual Console title all were released too. But the only game that comes close to even approaching the majesty that is Mega Man 10 is Fatal Fury Special. Aside from that, there’s just cheapy sports games, a “Whack-a-Mole” rip-off and a virtual book. (Don’t get excited, the DSiWare book is the Goosebumps-style Flips: Terror in Cubicle Four.)
Gamertell’s Nintendo Download picks for the week are Mega Man 10 (WW) and Fatal Fury Special (VC).
WiiWare
Dart Rage
Price: 600 Nintendo Points / $6
Publisher: JV Games
Genre: Sports
ESRB Rating: “Everyone” for Alcohol Reference
Players: 1-4
Description: It’s a dart game. You can play 301-901, Cricket, Poker and American dart games, and play against friends. I guess you just move the Wii remote to throw your darts, because the description says no button pushing is necessary.
Happy Hammerin’
Price: 500 Nintendo Points / $5
Publisher: Gamebridge
Genre: Action
ESRB Rating: “Everyone” for Mild Cartoon Violence
Players: 1-4
Description: Sadly, this is just a $5 game of “Whack-a-Mole.” There are moles which you need to whack by waving the Wii remote. You play either alone or with up to four other players. There’s also an online scoreboard.
Mega Man 10
Price: 1,000 Nintendo Points / $10
Publisher: Capcom
Genre: Action, Run-and-gun
ESRB Rating: “Everyone” for Mild Cartoon Violence
Players: 1
Description: Mega Man, or Proto Man, must save the day again. A virus called Roboenza is infecting robots, making them act in an unusual and destructive manner. Players must choose to be Mega Man or Proto Man, both are available right away and with different storylines, and save the day. This time around you can also change the difficulty level if you start experiencing problems while playing.
Virtual Console
Fatal Fury Special
Price: 900 Nintendo Points / $9
Originally Appeared On: NeoGeo
Publisher: D4 Enterprise
Genre: Fighting
ESRB Rating: “Teen” for Mild Suggestive Themes and Violence
Players: 1-2
Description: Mild suggestive themes? I guess that means Mai is a playable fighter in this one. It’s a good Fatal Fury game that’s an improved Fatal Fury 2, as it has the entire cast from that entry, plus Billy, Axel, Laurence, Wolfgang, Duck, Dan, Geese and Ryuu Sakazaki. It also adds in two-line battles and more special moves.
Flips: Terror in Cubicle Four
Price: 500 Nintendo Points / $5
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Genre: Other – novel
ESRB Rating: N/A
Players: 1
Description: Flips: Terror in Cubicle Four is actually a story. It’s an interactive book that follows James, Alexander and Lenny as they attempt to discover what’s lurking in the fourth stall in the girl’s bathroom. It’s probably not anything pretty, since it’s hurling green goo onto people who come near.
Globulos Party
