Every year, the good people at 1Up (namely, Scott Sharkey) put together a wonderful, wonderful list of good, free videogames. This year’s edition came out today, and it’s a doozy. There are more than 101 games on offer, across the strategy, platformer, shoot-em-up, puzzle, adventure/RPG and action/arcade genres, with an aptly-titled “WTF” category on the side. It’s pretty comprehensive, and seriously deserves a bookmark.
From the article:
“Times are tough, sure. Nobody got a raise and ain’t nobody complaining on account of well, they still have a job and would like to keep the thing. Belts tighten and we start cutting down on luxuries. On the up side, videogaming doesn’t have to be one of them”
It’s a godsend for those of us who are hurting from gaming “over-purchasing” or worse – the crappy economy.
I’m particularly happy to see Scarygirl get some love – it’s a truly gorgeous, polished platformer with puzzle elements and amazing art. If you haven’t given it a shot, you’re missing out on one of the coolest games of 2010, let alone one of the coolest free games. Try it out on the game’s site.
