Xbox Live Update for the week of February 14 through 20, 2010

Capcom’s survival-horror sequel Resident Evil 5 takes center stage in this week’s marketplace additions. The full adventure is now available through Games On Demand for $29.99 and requires 7 GB of storage. In addition to the game, a whole spate of Resident Evil 5 gear for your Xbox Live avatar is available to. You know you want your avatar to look like Chris Redfield, he’s a cool mercenary dude.

And now for something completely different. Also entering Games on Demand is Beautiful Katamari, which is about as far from RE 5‘s genre as you can possibly get. The action adventure genre doesn’t get much cuter as the King of All Cosmos unites with the Prince and some of their cousins to roll around and collects as much mass as possible. Really, describing Katamari games is hard. You need to play one to understand what a unique experience it is. This game is $19.99 and needs 3 GB of space.

New to the arcade this week is The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom, a puzzle-platformer. PB Winterbottom is a mischievous scamp who snuck a piece of chronoberry pie. Now he finds himself unstuck in time and will have to solve 75 puzzles, while stealing a whole bunch of pies. It’ll cost you 800 Microsoft Points to steal pie through time.

The Deal of the Week is multiplayer World War II shooter Battlefield 1943 for 800 points through February 22. You can take on the role of fighter pilot, tank commander or rifleman. As a word of warning, this one is multiplayer only so don’t download it looking for a story mode or anything like that.
