Imagine our surprise when we learned Street Fighter IV would be going mobile. The possibility of putting it on the PSP is understandable, but an iPhone/ iPod Touch port seemed outrageous. Nevertheless Capcom has locked in a price and release window for the Apple crowd.
Street Fighter IV will release on the App Store in March 2010 for $9.99. It will feature a roster of eight characters including Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Blanka, Guile, M. Bison, Dhalsim and Abel. We’ll basically get some old favorites and one newbie.
This reduced selection of characters could also mean a sparse number of game modes as well. The biggest question by far is how the game will control on a touch screen. The on-screen analog stick consists of eight directions which is normal, but somewhat frightening to look at. There are also four face buttons that seem easily accessible. All this aside, we must say Street Fighter IV looks very good in its shrunken down state.

I hope Capcom (or someone) makes a a bluetooth controller so I can play SNES classic games on an iPad. Or maybe a joystick and 6 button layout that attaches to it. I'm sure a touch version of Street Fighter can't play as well as a tactile version.
