Zombies vs. Cheerleaders is a comic book from Moonstone that will be released June 2010. I’m pretty sure the title of the comic wraps up what is to be expected from the series. You take a horde of the undead, mix in some curvy young girls in titillating cheerleader outfits, throw in an assortment of weapons and watch the fun begin.
It seems to me this idea is ripe for a videogame adaptation. We already witnessed the horror which was Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Squad so I think a second try is in order. Maybe the cheerleaders can take what is usually associated with cheerleading and make it violent. Take pom poms with hidden blades for example in the following scenario.
A seemingly fragile cheerleader is sobbing in a corner while an overconfident zombie drags his way over to her. Right when he thinks he’s got a free lunch, she stabs him right between the eyes. Insert a corny one-liner from the cheerleader, and you’ve got an opening cutscene.
Since cheerleading is a team effort, why not provide some group attacks? All the cheerleaders can form a circle, do an anti-zombie cheer and unleash a flurry of gun fire and melee attacks while still in unison.
There has to be someone out there willing to take a chance with this idea. When they do, I will be there with cash in hand.
