Final Fantasy II iPhone iPod TouchHey, listen! Those two Final Fantasy iPhone and iPod Touch ports are already here! Both Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II were added to the iTunes store today (February 25, 2010) and if you visit there right now, you can pick them both up for $8.99 each. Not bad, considering they’re classic games!

If you’ve got an iPhone, make sure you have OS 3.0 or later. As for space requirements, FFI takes up 72.1mb and FFII takes up 143mb. I’m sure you have plenty of room on your Apple device for both of them. Both have been rated 9+, for the cartoon and fantasy violence that appears in them. Don’t worry though – if I remember right from playing both games on my PSP, there should be no blood. FFII can, at times, be a bit depressing though.

It looks like the games are already being quite well received, if the first 20 or 30 customer reviews on each game’s page are any indication. Both games seem to be getting quite a few five star ratings, and comments are mostly positive. Many people seem to be clamoring for iPhone and iPod ports of other Final Fantasy games, like FFV and FFVI. Of course, these could just be the voices of exuberant fanboys and fangirls who are happy about their favorite series appearing on their Apple devices. It may be better to check back later in the day, or perhaps even sometime next week, for more unbiased feedback.

Personally, I’d recommend you go with Final Fantasy II. If you’ve never played the series, they don’t follow any kind of order and the story and characters in each are different. Final Fantasy I is quite memorable as well, but I just thought the story and way characters stats and abilities grew in FFII was a little more interesting.
