It’s never too early to start planning the future of a franchise. The original Crackdown was a huge success and Crackdown 2 is shaping up to be even better. Even though Crackdown 2 isn’t expected to be out until Q2 of 2010, Ruffian is talking about the technical possibilities of Crackdown 3.
Ruffian producer James Cope spoke with CVG recently and expressed interest in using Project Natal in future Crackdown games. Cope says Natal wouldn’t work with Crackdown‘s style at this point, but that could change in the future.
“But that’s not to say it doesn’t fit in with what we want to do with it in the future… we have an opportunity to look at Natal… Because Crackdown is a bit of a non-sensical world and it’s about mini-games and having fun within that, we can look at building mini-games that make sense for Natal into the Crackdown universe.”
We’d imagine jumping probably wouldn’t be the best way to implement Natal into Crackdown. There would probably be too many incidents of bumped heads and complaining apartment neighbors.
