Last week, Square Enix released Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II on iTunes. And, between February 25, 2010 and today, March, 1, 2010, Final Fantasy sold enough copies to take over the top spot on the Top Grossing Apps list that appears on the right when you visit the App Store.
Surprisingly, Final Fantasy II isn’t doing as well. It’s still in the top 10 Top Grossing Apps list, but it’s all the way down in the eighth spot. Funny, I always liked FFII better than FFI, and thought it’d do better.
Both Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II also found places for themselves in the Top Paid Apps list at the iTunes Store, but neither made it into the top 10. Final Fantasy is number 11 at the moment, while Final Fantasy II is lagging behind and is 55th on the list. Plants vs. Zombies is number five on the Top Paid Apps list, so Final Fantasy has a definite chance to steal that spot away next week.
