Nyko is expanding its line of Wii Wand controllers! Not in terms of functions though. No, the new wands have the same features, and same $29.99 price, as the old Wands. The company has decided that, since Nintendo is releasing the Wii remote in new colors, it should release its Wand in more colors.
Nyko already has black, blue, pink and even purple Wands, so it decided to go with more, unorthodox shades. So now you can get a grey, green, orange, red or yellow Wand! But not all in the same place. Certain shades are restricted to certain retailers. Here’s where you can pick up each color Wand, taken directly from the press release:
Fry’s: Red Wands
GameStop: Green and orange Wands
Meijer: Grey Wands
Walmart.com: Yellow Wands
I did a quick Walmart.com search for Nyko Wands today (March 2, 2010), and there was no sign of any yellow Wand. They did have the standard white Wand though!
For your viewing pleasure, I’ve included pictures of the green and orange versions of the Wands at the right there. Breathtaking. Seriously, the inexplicable color choices really take your breath away. The grey, red and yellow ones aren’t too bad, but I can’t imagine anyone, anywhere, wanting a lime or carrot colored Wii controller.
