Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love will be available in both premium and standard forms, though only Wii owners will have the option of purchasing a standard edition. The premium PS2 and Wii copies of the game will each have dual-layer discs, so people have the option of playing with the original Japanese voices or English dubbed. It also comes with an art book and poster, and costs $39.99.
The standard Wii version of the game is slightly cheaper, and costs only $29.99. Despite the lower price, it still includes the dual-layer disc featuring English or Japanese voice acting. So all you’re really missing out on are the poster and art book. That doesn’t seem all that bad a trade-off.
NIS probably did the right thing. With so many games coming out in March, especially mid-March, Sakura Wars could very easily have gotten lost and ignored. By bumping it back a week, it’ll debut on a slightly less packed release date and have the opportunity to stand out.
