Rock Band 3 announced for holiday season

If you were worried about the music rhythm genre imploding due to lack of innovation, you can rest easy for now. Viacom’s CEO Philippe Dauman just announced Rock Band 3 will be available during the 2010 holiday season. This time around Viacom says Rock Band 3 will revolutionize the music genre.

Exactly what Viacom means by a revolution is anyone’s guess. The developer of Rock Band 3 Harmonix, has yet to release any details regarding the game. We do recall Dhani Harrison, the son of The Beatles George Harrison, mentioning he was helping out Harmonix on Rock Band 3. He said the controllers were actually going to help gamers learn how to play a real instrument.
