Mass Effect 2 - Kasumi
Not only does it land on April 6, 2010, but the first paid DLC for Mass Effect 2 finally includes the oft-referenced and even more oft-denied character, Kasumi. There were even screenshots of her rumored existence within the game from Gamescom of last year. At the time, the validity of these were questioned a bit as they waited until closer to the release date to show them off. But now we know the truth. She’s real and she even has her very own dedicated DLC! The first in an undoubtedly long line of paid downloadable content for Mass Effect 2 centers entirely on Kasumi. Heck, it’s even called Kasumi’s Stolen Memory.

Included in the paid DLC is a single adventure based around Kasumi’s character. Apparently, Shepard will find himself involved in a heist reminiscent of the Oceans films or even, say, James Bond himself. Gunplay, Shepard pretending to be interested in a party for the sake of the party and a vault are all part of the festivities planned for the heist. Even though it’s just the one adventure, BioWare’s Casey Hudson seems to think it’s worth it. After all, an hour and a half isn’t bad for DLC.

Plus, there are all the fringe benefits to consider. A new member for the already impressive squad Shepard’s built, a new SMG to slake the thirst of everyone who wants more items and yet another loyalty power to be had. She even resides in a previously locked area of the ship. All told, it’s an impressive list of items for the first DLC that requires purchasing. That said, no price was given so they have sort of left that one up to the imagination.
