If you live in the US or Canada and have always wanted a green PSP, you’re going to get your chance to own one. Sony has announced, via its PlayStation.Blog that it is going to be releasing a Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PSP Entertainment Pack on June 8, 2010. As you can see from the image above, the bundle is going to include a green PSP. I’d say it’s an evergreen, or perhaps even shamrock green.
The Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PSP Entertainment Pack has your standard bundle content. You get a Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker UMD, a 2GB memory stick and green PSP-3000. Oh, sorry, I mean a “Spirited Green” PSP-3000. You also get a downloadable content voucher, that will unlock Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker content once you redeem it and start the game. A downloadable movie voucher will also be included for a specific movie, but Sony hasn’t announced what movie yet. Also, the voucher won’t be included with the Canadian bundle.
Like most PSP bundles, the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker bundle will cost $199. Which is, of course, a fantastic deal for a PSP unit. A normal PSP-3000 alone costs $169.99, and a PSPgo still costs $249.99.
I’m surprised Sony didn’t decide to go with a PSPgo Entertainment Pack for the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker release. It seems like that incarnation of the system just isn’t selling, and a bundle that gives buyers more content with their $249.99 investment might be more enticing.
