Good news Square Enix fans! Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep now has a definite, North American release window. Come Summer 2010, we’ll be able to experience Terra, Ventus and Aqua’s adventures firsthand. A worldwide release was pretty much guaranteed, but it’s good to know that it’s going to be happening soon!
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is a prequel to the original Kingdom Hearts and stars three keyblade users, Terra, Ventus and Aqua, who are studying under Master Eraqus. After Eraqus holds a keyblade mastery exam for Terra and Aqua, which Master Xehanort and his apprentice Vanitus attend, strange things start happening throughout the worlds. Creatures called Unversed are wrecking havoc, and Xehanort and his apprentice are nowhere to be found.
The story then splits into three separate, but intertwined, adventures from there. Terra is sent by Eraqus to find Xehanort. Ven, worried about Terra, sets off on his own to follow and help him. Meanwhile, Eraqus tasks Aqua with strengthening the Princesses of Heart, dispatching Unversed, keeping an eye on Terra and sending Ven back home.
Exciting news! I bet we’ll get to see lots of good trailers and playable demos at E3 2010!
