Square Enix Edios isn’t going to deny North America more Batman: Arkham Asylum goodness. The company has just announced that the Game of the Year Edition, which initially was going to be a European and Australian exclusive, will be released in North America. Just it’ll be released in North America a little bit later. Guess Square Enix Eidos decided not to turn down a chance to make easy money.
If you’re in Europe or Australia, then you get access to the Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition a little bit earlier. It comes out at the end of the month, March 26, 2010 to be exact, there. The North American version won’t be out until May 11, 2010.
It’s pretty much the same game in all territories. There’s going to be TriOviz 3D support, if the TV can handle it. There’s only one real difference difference. The version released overseas will have the six DLC maps included, while the North American version only has four DLC maps included. That’s because two of the downloadable maps were PS3 exclusives here. Still – getting the four, previously DLC maps with your copy of the game for free is pretty awesome.
There’s even more good news – people who bought Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PC, PS3 or Xbox 360 when it first came out aren’t missing too much. Sure, there’s the 3D, which is undoubtedly cool, but at least there’s no new content being added in!
