syfy logoSyfy had slowly been building up its catalog of games since the birth of their website in 2008. It had regularly been growing throughout 2009. Now, with the success of the gaming portion of the site, Syfy is creating a site for specifically gaming called Syfy Games.

Though the Syfy website already has a number of games like Dark Orbit, Deepolis and 9 Dragons, they are going to be adding many more. Craig Engler, SVP and GM of Syfy Digital, let the world know about this move.

“Launching Syfy Games is the next logical evolution of our successful online gaming portfolio, which is already the number one section of Syfy.com,” said Engler in a press release.

He went on to add, “We’ll be adding both casual and massively multiplayer games as well as features that let gamers around the world connect and play with one another, whether they’re novices or hardcore enthusiasts.”

Some of Syfy Games’ partners include Big Point Interactive and Acclaim. Syfy had also teamed up with Atari to lauch Star Trek Online. Games based on Syfy-specific franchises including Ghost Wrangler (Ghost Hunters), Raptor Lander (Battlestar Galactica) and Star Gem (Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe).

There will be many other games on the site so that will be added, for example, War of Titans, Terminator Salvation, Rover Racer and Green Mahjong to name a few.

Syfy Games will be officially launched Spring 2010.
