Threadless tees, the maker of some rather zany t-shirts, announced this Saturday (April 17, 2010) at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) that they will be unleashing a series of eight t-shirts that will actually show an entire comic. This will be the first time a comic book has ever been shown through a series of shirts. Each shirt will show a panel, one on the front and one on the back, and the whole comic will be told through all eight shirts. The eighth shirt will reveal the end, naturally.
Not only is this a big deal as far as showcasing comics, but it also has some big names to back it up. The artists involved include Jill Thompson, writer, illustrator and creator of the Scary Godmother series, Cliff Chiang, an artist best known for his work on Human Target, and DC Comic’s Art Baltazar, writer for Teen Titans.
The full line of shirts will debut at Comic Con 2010 in Los Angeles this July, but little hints will be shown on Threadless Tees’ website up until then. So far there is only one comic book planned, but if the shirts are a hit, then Threadless hopes to have more comic shirts come out.
If you would like to check out more about these shirt’s you can check out their booth at Booth #938 or visit Threadless.com. You can also buy some awesome shirts, including Tron, for $18 each or two for $30.
