PopCap giving away iPads, notebook PC to Bejeweled lovers

Generous sort of game that Bejeweled‘s creator is, PopCap celebrating its birthday by giving its die-hard fans some presents.
The “Show Your Bejeweled Love” giveaway challenges fans to submit a YouTube video singing the game’s praises in two minutes or less. The contest runs until May 26, 2010, but only those in the United States, Canada (excluding Quebec – sorry, eh) and the United Kingdom are eligible. Prizes include a notebook PC and two Bejeweled 10th Anniversary engraved iPads. You may now begin drooling.
PopCap has established three judging criteria, all contributing equally to a contestant’s final score: enthusiasm, presentation and Bejeweled game knowledge. In addition to a chance to win fabulous prizes, the really outstanding submissions will appear on the Bejeweled web site.
In materials announcing the contest, PopCap Games co-founder Jason Kapalka said more than half a billion people have played the game in its 10-year lifespan.
Bejeweled is also a member of the Computer Gaming World Hall of Fame. It’s the only puzzle game besides Tetris, the granddaddy of all puzzlers, to earn that honor.
