A video containing footage of Mad Gear Zone Act 2 of Sonic 4 has leaked onto the internet. Sonic 4 takes the series back to its SEGA Genesis roots by offering the classic style of 2D left to right gameplay. In theory Sonic 4 gives gamers the very thing we have been wanting for years. Sonic won’t be grabbing swords or turning into a Werehog anytime soon.
The Mad Gear Zone is an industrial stage with spinning platforms and looping tubes. It really does look like it came straight from the original Sonic games. Some of the classic sound effects are there too. Make sure you watch the entire video below to get a glimpse of Super Sonic in action.
Sonic 4 is expected to come out in Summer 2010 on PSN, XBLA, WiiWare and another unannounced platform.
