Dragon Ball may be one of the most popular anime series of all time. Its three main sagas, several spinoffs and movies have captured countless fans throughout the years and even more with its recent re-imaging, Dragon Ball Kai. The series’ success has also spawned a number of video games and two new entries are coming Fall 2010.
Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team for the PSP will allow players to relive epic battles from the Dragon Ball Z saga. The game features over 70 customizable characters and an all new two on two battle system that lets players join forces through Ad Hoc connection. The game’s main story spans all the Dragon Ball Z saga, from the introduction of the Saiyans all the way to the Majin Buu arc.
Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 is coming for the Xbox 360 and PS3. As a sequel to last year’s release it will feature the series’ trademark battle system, with destructible environments, signature attacks and the ability to transform characters into higher powered forms. The game will include more than 90 customizable characters some of which are making their debut in the series.
The release date is yet to be announced but both games will be released by Namco Bandai and will hit the stores Fall 2010.
Even though I always liked the the anime, I was never really impressed by the games but the last few have turned out to be fun (although not as deep as other fighting games). I’m actually looking forward to the PSP version. It might be fun to pick that up during a commute and play a quick battle, and the Ad Hoc co-op also sounds fun.
