Anyone who bought a PSPgo after April 1, 2010 will have access to ten free games. Choices include LittleBigPlanet, Grand Theft Auto (no specific title was mentioned) and Gran Turismo. SCE UK sales director Mark Howsen told MCV this offer will not just pertain to older games. Sony is working with other developers to make its games part of this deal.
This offer is only confirmed for UK residents at the moment. There’s no word on whether North America will follow suit.
As wonderful as this offer sounds, I can’t help but still feel a bit skeptical. There’s a reason why the PSPgo never took off. The free games Sony is giving away won’t solve the problem the PSPgo always had. Once we’ve grown tired of these games, what else is there to experience? Those of us who already own a PSP 1000-3000 and initial purchasers of the PSPgo, are not eligible for this offer. Even if we do buy a PSPgo for the free games, we still have no way of playing the UMD’s we payed for. It seems like a smokescreen that does not address problems that have, and will continue to hinder PSPgo sales.
