Memorial Day weekend is here. I’m sure a lot of us will be kissing work goodbye and filling the void with more barbecue than we’d like to admit. Before you start off the festivities, you should know that Activision is doing its part in giving back to veterans. The Call of Duty Endowment is a non profit organization that helps returning veterans get back on their feet and find careers. Its goal is to raise money to assist Hire Heroes USA in finding jobs for veterans.
We can all contribute to the Call of Duty Endowment without leaving our homes. All you have to do is log on to Facebook and “Like” the CoD Endowment page. For everyone who likes the page, Activision will increase its donation to HHUSA by $1. The campaign will run until Monday, May 31, 2010 or until $50,000 has been raised.
If just a small fraction of the people who play CoD online were to participate, the $50,000 benchmark could be met in less than a day. At the time of this writing, the number of “Likes” has reached over 7,000.
