Warren Spector has been working on Epic Mickey, coming to the Nintendo Wii, for some time now and has constantly been quoted as stating that he wants to shake things up and reference oft-forgotten material.
The entire game is meant to be steeped in Mickey Mouse lore from the very depths of the Disney vault.
The thing is, everyone’s favorite cartoon mouse has not always been a pillar of virtue.
At times in his illustrious career, Mickey has been mischievous and downright agitating. He loved to stir the pot. Spector fully intended to show off all facets of Mickey’s personality in the game but encountered a few snags. The game will still feature everything it had before but it looks as if one part of the vision had to go after focus testing.
Originally, Mickey would change in appearance depending on how good or bad the total of his actions were at any given moment. He could fluctuate between Scrapper, Wastelander and Hero versions of himself. The Scrapper is the more, for lack of a better term, evil Mickey and the Hero functions as the polar opposite with the Wastelander being some kind of neutral middle ground.
This didn’t test so well according to The Mainichi Daily News. Spector was quoted as saying the following:
“We did a focus test that was really eye-opening for me. There was a biker dude saying, ‘Oh, I’d never play a Mickey Mouse game,’ and then we showed him images of a changed Mickey. I was sitting there thinking, ‘You’re gonna love what we do,’ but he said, ‘No! Don’t mess with my childhood.’”
He further explains that, instead of changing in appearance, Mickey will have small companions that change based on his actions.

I wish i knew of this change i mean really i wouldn't have wasted my money. I was waiting happily i even bumped another game i wanted to the side cause i heard this game was going to have so much cool stuff in it. I means i don't own a single mickey mouse game i thought i try this one cause it had a great concept now it sading. Make me want to sell the game off with the box and stickers i got cause my hopes were so up and now they are dashed. Due to what a biker plllzzz.. I would have been happier hearing soccer mom's got in the way of something cool again.
