Madden 11 swagger rating

Did you think game publishers had come up with every way imaginable to cram a little more advertising into their products? Along comes EA Sports to show you they have not yet begun to advertising partner up. Madden NFL 11 will feature sports gaming’s first ever sponsored ratings category, the “Swagger” rating. It seems Old Spice and EA Sports did some research to determine which NFL teams have the most “Swagger,” or what us older gamers still call confidence.

EA Sports has clarified the new rating a little bit, and apparently a player with a higher Swagger rating will be more likely to celebrate after a big play. It’s certainly interesting. If this means goodbye to Madden 10′s garish Snickers ads that advised you to “Prepare for Chomp-etition,” I will gladly take swagger.

Since the NFL has been getting increasingly strict with its celebration penalties, it will be fun to see athletes cut loose on the virtual field. Perhaps as an upcoming download, we’ll see a referee that doesn’t take that guff and throws 15-yard flags every time you swagger. Get your “swagger” on August 10, 2010 when Madden NFL 11 comes to the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PlayStation Portable. It will also come to iPod and iPhone for more portable swagger.
