2K Games is ready to step in and make Bioshock 2 interesting again. Well, Bioshock 2 was always interesting, just by now most people have probably beaten the game, and maybe even mastered the multiplayer. So the “Protector Trials” downloadable content will be a welcome addition when it arrives August 3, 2010 on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PCs.
The “Protector Trials” DLC is aptly named, as it gives you the opportunity, as a Big Daddy, to protect a Little Sister. There are six new maps which are based on places from Bioshock 2, and in each one you will be tasked with guarding a Little Sister from Splicers while she harvests ADAM. If you do well, you’ll earn new achievements and trophies, along with concept art and videos.
As you’ve probably gathered, the “Protector Trials” are solo missions. So you don’t need other people to play with to enjoy the new defensive actions. A multiplayer take on this would be interesting though – with multiple Big Daddies trying to protect a couple Little Sisters while they work at once. Perhaps using strategy and teamwork, where one Big Daddy would stay with the girls while the other would explore and take out any potential threats.
The “Protector Trials” will be available for all three platforms on the exact same day, which is awesome. That way no one will feel left out. You will need about $5 if you want to buy it though. It’s $4.99 for the PS3 version of the DLC and 400 Microsoft Points ($5) for the Xbox 360 and Windows PC versions.
