New Events
Nothing says Fourth of July like the grand sound of fireworks popping above you and patriotic music blaring in the background. This week players can celebrate Fourth of July or Canadian Day in Central Plaza this weekend during Captain Kablooey’s Boombastic Bonanza. Just visit Central Plaza to receive an American Flag or Canadian Flag shirt, then approach the central fountain and grab a detonator to set off their own fireworks to win patriotic reward items like outfits or sparklers. If you missed the event on Fourth of July, don’t worry you may still have a chance this week before it all gets taken down.

This week in the theater visit Auditorium 7 to watch the Toy Story 3 videos to receive free Toy Story 3 t-shirts.
New Places
This week as announced during E3 2010, the PlayStation Home Midway Carnival space is now open. Players can find this space on their navigator or simply enter the porta-potty’s located in central plaza to be transported to the entrance of the carnival. Once there wait a few minutes and you will receive your own free midway space, purchase tickets at the ticket booth to play the games or wait for the timer displayed in the corner for the next free game available.
There are more than 100 reward prizes to win from decorations and furniture to clothing and accessories. Ticket prices are listed below in shopping section. Please note some gamers may experience difficulty playing the games or may not receive a free space due to an aspect ratio issue. A temporary solution has been found thanks to gamer JoseOmatic who posted in the PlayStation Forum that all one had to do until the ratio has been fixed is to simply go to your settings and change your Video Output Ratio to 16:9 located on the XMB Video Settings section. Once this change has been made, simply revisit the Midway space and you will receive your free personal space, and all the games will now work. Kudos to JoseOmatic for finding a solution. Once the bug has been fixed players can return the video output settings to its original settings.

New Personal Spaces
*Darla’s Den is a free space acquired upon entering the Midway space, as an extension to the Carnival Space there are free games like Trigger Happy-in-a-Box Arcade game, Bell Ringer and a cannon which unlocks after earning more than 1500 points on any game in the Midway Space. Find or win a key in the Midway Space to unlock secret areas in Darla’s Den Space. The space comes already furnished with basic fairground furniture and up to four wall spaces in back of trailer (also an unlockable prize) for personal photos or carnival posters won by playing the midway games at level 4.
Andy’s Room cost $7.99 and features tons of mini-games and interactive toys all around the space. Please note those who had difficulty in the Midway Space may experience the same difficulties in Andy’s Room Space. The same temporary ratio fix applies to Andy’s Room. Check out Andy’s Room and please note that not all items shown in the video are available at time of purchase. Those items will be released over time according to the PlayStation Forum Blogs.
