Destination Arcade

Xbox Live Arcade is going to get a visual overhaul on July 14, 2010. The Xbox team will be launching Destination Arcade, a new visual way to search XBLA. Destination Arcade will be free of charge and will be found in the Games Marketplace section of the Xbox 360 dashboard.

Destination Arcade’s purpose is to make searching for things on Xbox Live much easier than before. Most people are visual learners, and ease of use translates into more revenue for Microsoft. We will be able to sort content by price, rating and recommend games to friends. There will also be a news feed to keep you in the loop about the newest releases.

It all appears to be a better way of organizing content on XBLA. Details are scarce at the moment and it isn’t clear if Destination Arcade will replace the old interface, or if it will be optional.
