Toradora! anime NIS America

NIS America has taken the plunge into the world of anime licensing! The company’s first two series, Toradora! and Persona -trinity soul- have now started shipping. It may prove a little difficult to find said animes though, as the distribution is a tad limited. Your best bet may be to head to the NIS America Online Store and pick up the volumes. Each one is a premium edition, which comes with 13 episodes and an artbook for $47.99.

Persona -trinity soul- is an alternate reality anime series that takes place after the events of Persona 3, only in a universe parallel to the one that appeared in the game. It takes place ten years after the Apathy Syndrome hit and disappeared. The Apathy Syndrome has resurfaced again, just as three siblings, Shin, Jun and Ryo Kanzato, reunite. Fortunately, the three discover they are Persona users. It’s a serious and dramatic series.

On the other hand, Toradora! is a romantic comedy. Ryuji is a quiet and rather upstanding high school student who everyone assumes is a deliquent because of his scary eyes. He wants to change and find a way to make friends, and perhaps get his classmate Minori to be his girlfriend. However, Minori’s best friend is Taiga, the Palm-top Tiger, a stubborn young woman with a frightful temper. However, Taiga has a crush on Ryuji’s best friend, Yusaku. So the two end up decided to help each other out in their romantic pursuits.

Unfortunately, some people have been experiencing issues with the first volume releases of both Persona -trinity soul- and Toradora!. So NIS America has announced a DVD replacement program. Anyone who purchased those first two volumes can sign up at a special webpage created by NIS America to receive re-mastered discs when they are available.
