will be on store shelves before you know it (August 10, 2010) and now we know what achievements we’ll be calling in sick to unlock.
A few are inspired by real NFL events. The Very Special Teams achievement challenges you to return two kicks for TDs in one game with the same players. That happened twice during the 2009-10 season. Winning Isn’t Everything honors Brandon Marshall, who caught 21 passes for the Denver Broncos in a losing effort. You’ll need to catch 21 passes to unlock the achievement and you’re actually allowed to win the game.
Old Spice is one of the game’s big advertisers this year with the first sponsored player rating, swagger. Old Spice also brings us the Swagger Pick 6 achievement for returning an interception for a touchdown. Don’t forget to “swagger” afterwards.
These achievements, as a whole, look easier than Madden NFL 10. Last year many of the achievements specified they had to be done on All-Pro difficulty level, making them harder to pull off. None of this year’s have a difficulty level attached, so some easy points will ensue.
There are also two Secret Achievements worth 10 points each.
Madden NFL is available August 10 on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation Portable. The iPhone and iPod will also get versions.
